THE CHANGEOVER is on Saturday 4th at 5.30pm and Sunday 5th at 6.30pm.

Erana James stars alongside Timothy Spall and Kiwis Melanie Lynskey and Lucy Lawless in this adaptation of Margaret Mahy’s namesake novel.

Set in post-earthquake Christchurch, The Changeover tells the story of troubled teenage Laura Chant (James) who must ‘change over’ and become a witch in order to save her little brother Jacko (Benji Purchase) from an evil ancient spirit.

From nine female Māori filmmakers come eight connected stories, each taking place at the same moment in time during the tangi (funeral) of a small boy, Waru, who has died at the hands of a caregiver.
The eight stories are all subtly linked and follow different female characters as they come to terms with Waru’s death and try to find a way forward in their community.
