Waikato District Council Media Release 14 April 2017, 8:50am
Waikato District largely avoided the effects of Cyclone Cook. Yesterday’s weather
resulted in a few slips and limited flooding throughout the district.
The Waikato District is still cleaning up from the effects of last week’s storm, exCyclone
Debbie, and roads that were damaged will be inspected over the coming
weeks.
Known slips from last night’s weather:
Rotowaru Road (Huntly side of Glen Affton Township, by bridge) – one lane blocked
Hakarimata Road (3 or 4 corners from the Waikato Alliance depot) – one lane
blocked
Waeranga Rd – from Te Kauwhata at the intersection of Kelly Road – small slip with
an overhanging tree
Known flooding from last night’s weather:
Waingaro Rd – Just before Glen Massey
Tahuna Rd – 5km East of Te Hoe
Hakarimata Rd – near the above mentioned slip, 3 or 4 corners from the Waikato
Alliance depot
