The first 52 pages of the 275 page agenda (220MB as it has reverted to lots of graphics, rather than text) cover standing orders, code of conduct, etc. The rest of the agenda includes –

  1. Date and time of meetings – “Members should be aware that the Council calendar is very full and it is difficult to suggest constructive alternatives to the status quo. It is also noted that the status quo works well, so there is no real need to change it”!

  2. Sewage – 17 spills and 97 pumping station call outs in year to August.

  3. Electric car charging point – “WEL are wanting to proceed with the site” beside Plunket.

  4. Traffic – 6 pages of average daily traffic counts on local roads, though there are some inconsistencies, as in these examples –

  11. Discretionary fund has $17,989, but this month’s applications total $24,660 – the Arts Council wants $10,000 for an extension, Soundsplash wants $6,024 for generator lighting, Environment Centre wants $5,074 for Plastic Free Raglan, Lions Club want $1,775 for New Year’s Eve parade, Chamber of Commerce want $1,000 for a Christmas light competition, Mountain Bike Club wants $787 for Wainui Reserve mountain bike track maps. Should WED be taking up these, or any other issues missing from the agenda, such as the bus contract, stormwater infiltration and sewage education workshop, Community Response Plan, glyphosate, Trails Strategy, Coastal Reserves Committee minutes of Mon. 12 Sep, volunteer worker safety, youth representation on RCB, or SH23 safety plans?

Friends of Wainui’s Panorama of Raglan calendar 2017 is on sale for $15 in the Bookshop, Whaingaroa Organic Kai and Bow St Gallery.

Monday 14 Nov 5pm is the new deadline for Sand Mining submissions – have you done one?

Hope to see you on Tuesday

Thanks

John.
