Nominations open soon for Raglan elections

Local Body Elections will take place this year on 9 October for the Waikato District.

This year the election will include the new Awaroa ki Tuakau and Onewhero Wards, and the Onewhero Tuakau Community Board.

Local Body Elections are held every three years to give the public the opportunity to vote for the Mayor and Councillors they think will best represent and improve the Waikato District.

This is also a chance for residents to stand for a position on the Council as the Raglan member or on the Raglan Community Board. Those elected for public office have a special role in shaping our community. Council is planning a number of candidate information evenings during August in Raglan, Tamahere, Huntly, Ngaruawahia and Tuakau. Dates and locations are yet to be advised by Council.

Voters can check details or enrol at any Post Shop, Registrar of Electors’ office, library or court house. Alternatively enrolment can be done online at www. elections.org.nz.
