Raglan author Sarah Johnson launched her new book, The Bold Ship Pheonmenal last weekend. Part of Raglan Word Cafe, the launch on 15th August in the Raglan Town Hall was a great success with a huge crowd coming along. The new book is in the junior fiction category aimed at children aged 8 to 12.
Sarah said, “This story is very special to me. It’s about pirates and snails and a pig and boats and trucks and trees, but it’s also about some of the things I think are really important in life. Like being brave enough to take risks and have adventures. And being able to see the world in your own way; even when that’s not how everyone else sees it.”
The story follows the adventures of Malachi, aged 11, after he finds a mysterious bottle on the seashore. What’s inside the bottle leads him on the journey of his life. The story is set in New Zealand.
