The Combined Artist Studios & Gallery at 11 Bankart Street, Raglan will be hosting a Stuff You Can Wear Wearable Art Group Show from the 5th to the 18th June. Over 60 art pieces that can be worn as jewellery, will be on display by 18 Artists. The exhibition is curated by Amanda Watson and combines that skill of cabinet maker Roger Woolston (of Raglan), plywood, shapes, and 18 other artists.
The show captures each artist’s original expression on a pre-cut wood panel that was posted out to them by Curator Amanda Watson. Amanda said, “Our opening will consist of the artists bringing to the gallery their finished artworks, plus some food to share together before we install the show corporately. Once we have all the work at the gallery we will be able to see how we will group them. This show will be full of surprises, varying mediums and messages. I’m looking forward to seeing how the artists work on a small and uniform scale. It will be the first time all 18 Artists have shown together.
The pieces are finished artworks in themselves but can also be worn as broaches or hung from chains. There are a range of shapes and sizes.”
