The website poll on Raglan 23 shows a clear preference for the Raglan library to open in the evenings. the Waikato District Council has announced that as part of its ten-year Long Term Plan that it will be extending library hours, making resources and some Council services available to more people at different times. It hasn’t said yet when this will happen. All we know it is that it is likely to happen at some time during the next ten years and that frequently this Council doesn’t follow its plan.
A recent announcement by the Council says that Raglan Library users will get a sampler of late night opening on Friday 10th July. The Waikato Council said, “For the public’s convenience, opening hours will be extended until 8pm on Friday 10 July 2015.”
The accompanying bad news is that the Raglan Library and Office will be closed on Saturday 11 July 2015. The closure is due to minor works taking place over that weekend.
However, the WDC says normal business hours will resume on Monday 13 July 2015.
