Here’s the latest bulletin from Raewyn McLACHLAN, Constable RMJ440
New Zealand Police, RAGLAN
There have been a few incidents of wilful damage occurring around town over the past month. Vehicles parked on the side of the road seem to be a particular target at present. There have been several vehicles damaged on Norrie Avenue, Government Road and Simon Road over this time. Damage includes smashed windscreens, wing mirrors, and also bonnets and roofs being caved in by people stomping on them.
There have been several burglaries around Wainui Road, at houses near Ngarunui and Manu Bay. The houses have been left insecure in all instances.
Vehicles continue to be broken into at Ngarunui Beach carpark.
Two offenders were located after stealing a backpack from the verandah of the Harbourview Hotel and bags from a vehicle parked (unlocked) outside Valente’s.
There have also been several car crashes of late. Now is the time to ensure your vehicle is up to scratch for the winter season. Drive to the conditions.
Take care and keep warm.
