Raglan’s Postshop in Bow St closed on Friday 14th. The two permanent NZ Post staff will be moving to the Frankton Postshop. There were cuddles and tears and tears on Friday as customers greeted the staff for the last time.
Meanwhile over in the Raglan SuperValue, work was underway to complete the new postal counter. It is being built in the area next to the checkouts where there used to be a pie warmer and a homewares display. Outside in the car park an extension to the building has a bank of shiny new postal boxes. It will be able to clear boxes without entering the supermarket building during the hours when the car park is not chain looked.
NZ Post has announced that the new postal counter will open on Monday 17th.
