The Playground business at Te Uku is the home to popular fun activities including paint ball and carts. A few months ago they applied to the Waikato District Council for approval to run eight music events on the property- all in the summer months. The application was declined. At the meeting of WDC’s Hearings committee it was announced that Playground Events Ltd has lodged an appeal. WDC has suggested mediation and proposed that two members of the Hearings committee take part in the mediation.
From 1993 to 1995 the property now used by The Playground was the home of the annual three-day long Strawberry Fields concerts.
