In the poll running on Raglan 23 prior to the local body elections, Raglanders have given  their vote for the Waikato Mayor to Noel Smith. The poll started with Noel in the lead and he held that lead consistently with Bruce Cameron coming in second.  While Allan Sanson started with a low vote, his numbers lifted during the poll to almost equal with Bruce Cameron. Frank McInally and Blair Donaldson both secured a small part of the vote. Thank you to everybody who voted.

Meanwhile the econometric model developed by Rodger Gallagher for Raglan 23 is still showing an overall win in the Waikato Mayoral race by Bruce Cameron.  Rodger said, “I’ve updated the model with yesterday’s return data and the model still predicts a win for Bruce Cameron. Raglan Community Radio has challenged me to place a bet on the prediction and I’ve now decided to do that by donating $100 to Raglan Community Radio if the model’s prediction is proved to be wrong on Saturday when the results are announced.”

As of close on business on Thursday 10th October, only 860 Raglanders had voted in the Waikato District local body elections.  This leaves 75% of Raglan ward voters still having to return their voting papers.

It’s too late to post them in now. But you can still vote by delivering your papers by hand to a Council Office.

There will be a ballot box available in the Raglan Council Office/ Library at 7 Bow St until noon midday Saturday 12 October where voting papers can be deposited.

Come on people, get those voting papers off the coffee table, tick the boxes and post the papers in.
