That’s the question everybody was asking at last night’s wrap up Saturday Night Stories & Open Mike session of the inaugural Word Cafe Raglan.
The evening started with Cambridge writer Julie Thomas describing her recent success first as an e-book publisher, and then having US publisher HarperCollins decide to publish her novel, The Keeper of Secrets.
It will be published in June across the US, NZ, Australia and the Netherlands with a book launch in Cambridge on the 20th June. She described how she went about initially publicising the e-book then giving some amusing stories leading up to printing the paper edition. Julie followed this with an exclusive Raglan preview reading from The Keeper of Secrets.
Readings by other visiting writers followed and then readings of stories and poems by Raglan writers.
The sessions on Saturday at the Old School and Raglan Library were presented to packed audiences. The organisers received considerable positive feedback with people asking for more. Well done Word Cafe Team!
Word Cafe Raglan was a great event and many thanks to all the people and business who help and supported Raglan’s first readers and writers festival last weekend. Raglan turned on a fine day and there were plenty of the Word Cafe Crowd checking out the town and all it has to offer and coming back to the Old School Arts Centre with glowing reports. As to the next one – 2015!
