An official notice in Tuesday’s Waikato Times advises that water restrictions have been lifted in Raglan and other parts of the Waikato District. The notice says that water restrictions are at zero under the Council’s ‘Smart Water’ system. In what many say was Ngaruawhia’s quirkiest action to date, a sprinkler ban and level three restrictions had been kept on, even in the face of heavy rain. The fact that Raglan’s Riki Springs were providing an abundant water supply right through the summer seems to have been overlooked.
Water use in Raglan last week dropped again to just 1487 cubic metres a day.
