Waikato District and Regional Councils are taking steps to sell off an abandoned section in Raglan. The section at 11 Rakaunui St is covered with gorse and other weeds. The Councils say that they are selling the land to cover their unpaid bills for rates.

Hamilton lawyers, Tompkins Wake have been engaged to handle the legal steps needed to sell abandoned land. A public notice describes the land as Lot 14 of SA22B/257 on South Auckland plan 23465 and as being owned by Nutana Holding Company Limited. However this company was struck off the company’s office register in 1989.

The land value of 11 Rakanui St is shown as $220,000 in the Waikato rating database.  Anybody with an interest in the land should contact Karina McLuskie at Tompkins Wake before the 25th May on email kmcluskie@tomwake.co.nz otherwise an application will be made to the District Court to sell the land to pay the unpaid rates.
