Te Kopua Fitness Trail

Raglan’s Te Kopua Reserve has a 13 station fitness trail.    Each of the 13 stations all cater for a different type of exercise routine.   This type of fitness trail originated in Switzerland where they are called vitaparcours or in English ‘parcourse’.

120115FitnessTrailThe first station and map is located on the edge of soccer fields  at the northen end of Marine Parade. From there the trail takes you past the edge of the skate park and just inside the dunes.   Inside the fitness trail is a BMX Track.

 

The aim of the fitness trail, is to encourage people to start or continue with a level of health and fitness that they are comfortable with. The level of fitness needed for this trail starts from a beginner through to an advanced level, depending on the number of times and intensity performed at each exercise at each station.

There are 13 stations on the Raglan Fitness Trail that vary from stretching to upper body workouts. It should take about 30 mins to get round once, depending on the amount of times each exercise is repeated at the individual stations.    Most stations have a degree of difficulty while some are easier to do than others.   The trail designers caution that while the have taken many considerations and safety precautions in putting this trail together they do ask that people take care while taking part in the use of this equipment. The use of this equipment is at an individual’s own risk and any injury sustained if using this trail is a user responsibility.
