On early Sunday evening Downer contractors had Bow St closed and were cleaning up loose gravel prior to laying asphalt. The earlier Council attempt at using the cheap chip seal on Bow St had failed resulting in tar pools in various parts of the street.
At last weeks’ meeting of the Raglan Community Board, a resolution was passed calling on Waikato District Council to urgently pave the street with asphalt. Since then Ward Councilor Clint Baddeley has been working with staff to get the job done quickly and with the minimum inconvenience. The outcome is the night-time work over the next few evenings (weather permitting).
Good to see some common sense in the end from WDC!
Excellent !!!
Its an improvement that’s for sure. Disconcerting how much effort and cost it took to get it right.
