The $600,000 contract to relocate and rebuild the Lorenzen Bay wastewater pump is now well underway.  Brian Perry Civil are undertaking the work for the Waikato District Council.  The work on the new location on the grass verge at the end of Lorenzen Bay Rd has disrupted access for local residents to their homes at times.  Pedestrian access to the beach is available at most times.

Meanwhile subcontractors, Higgins Construction are working on the rising-main to connect the new pump station to the main sewer in Bayview Road.  Work in Cambrae Road is almost complete and work is proceeding through Lorenzen Bay Road properties.  An earlier plan to dig up the Cambrae Road beach access stairs has now been replaced by a plan to use directional drilling underneath the stairs.

It is expected that the work will be completed in June.
