Further opportunities for Raglan boaties to learn about important safety skills are being offered over the next few weeks.
On the 10th March, with support from Waikato Regional Council, Coastguard’s Raglan unit held another course, attended by more than 50 people, on how to safely cross the notorious Raglan bar.
Now Coastguard is offering a one day marine VHF radio operator’s course from 9am to 3pm on Saturday 24 March at Raglan for a $95 fee.
This will be followed by a weekend day skipper course at Raglan on Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April from 8.30am to 4.30pm each day. The cost is $195.
Coastguard says new members can get a $100 discount off the day skipper fee and $40 off the VHF operator fee.
People wanting to register their interest in the two latest courses can call 0508 737 283 or email education@coastguard.org.nz.
The two latest courses will be held at the St John’s building, 11 Wainui Rd.
Meanwhile, further bar crossing courses are due to be held later in the year.
