Rating review Raglan properties haven’t decreased as much as other areas, so Raglan will pay 3% more rates on average. Graphs show that Raglan already pays a much higher proportion of its income in rates than the rest of the District. These figures are approximations from graphs in the agenda –

Can someone process these statistics into comparable averages?
Water Committee considering Whale Bay sewage plan on Tuesday morning. Staff propose splitting cost 60% from residents ($10,000 each) and 40% ($9.50 a year) for all wastewater ratepayers.
Water meter tender likely to be early 2012.
Most potholes and blocked stormwater drains not dealt with within time WDC has set itself.
Sea wall erosion at Lorenzen Bay, Puriri & Cliff St – WDC deciding whether to take responsibility for repairs.
Town Hall Committee replacing roof starting in January and recommending that rate goes up from $16 to $25.
After being reworked several times, the discretionary fund is now $7,223. Applications for the next round close on Fri 10 Feb.
There are still many items not mentioned on the agenda, though they have been raised recently by residents, eg the $64,137 set aside for the Whale Bay-Wainui Reserve walkway (discussed at September and October meetings), January’s 21%+ bus fare hike, hospital, Maori representation, privet, fluoride and Raglan walkways. Even the rate increases only got on the agenda because we specifically asked for them to be there. Maybe we need to put in a regular request.
